TO A CREATIVE WRITING TASTER DAY
ON FRIDAY 23RD AUGUST 2019

teachers spend their time immersed in poetry and prose, but rarely have the
opportunity to be creative themselves.
That’s why we’re offering a full day of tutored
workshops in the tranquil Lake District setting of Patterdale Hall, absolutely
free of charge.
All you have to do is bring your imagination and
a pen.
Poetry workshops will be led by Peter Sansom, a poet and expert tutor with many years’ experience. Peter will share his brilliant repertoire of exercises to inspire you to write spontaneously as well as provide you with valuable feedback.
Additional
prose sessions will be led by Jane Kingsford, a creative writing practitioner.
Jane will offer tried and tested prompts to enable you to create original
characters and plots. You will be given plenty of ideas to take away, adaptable
for a variety of classroom settings.
There will also be an opportunity to
look around our superb facilities and discuss the possibility of bringing your
own pupils for a Creative Writing Retreat in the future. (Additional
information about our writing courses has already been sent to your school.)
Timings:
10am arrival: coffee and cake
10.30 – 1.00 writing workshops with short break
1 – 2 lunch and tour
2 – 4.45 writing workshops with short break
4.45 – 5.30 tea and cake and departure.
To take advantage of this Creative Writing Taster Day, complete and return the attached slip to Patterdale Hall by 10th August 2019. Up to two places offered to each school.
